The Best Places To Ride Your Electric Dirt Bike in Brisbane

You’ve bought the kids their new electric dirt bike. They are over the moon. They practiced every day. They brake like a pro, they carve and master little jumps. They look fired up and eager to do more, but the back garden is beginning to feel a bit limiting, even if you live on acerage. But you want to keep the momentum going (in the literal sense 😊) and keep that spark and excitement in their eyes.

You need ideas and fast!

As a company based in Brisbane, we’re here to share some of our favourite local hotspots so that you don't need to worry anymore about where to ride your beginner's dirt bike. Its awesome for the kids to ride amongst other kids and to have a chat with likeminded parents. Check out these cool locations as we give you the lowdown on where to ride a dirt bike in Brisbane.

Continuous wet weather can sometimes keep tracks shut for weeks. To avoid disappointment for the kids, try not to make promises. “We’ll try and go when conditions are ok” is often a safer option! ***

1. Ultimate Junior Motocross at the Sleeman Sports Complex 

This is a great place to kickstart the weekend with a 2-hour practice ride. The complex offers dirt bike riding and bookable coaching sessions for junior riders and senior beginner riders.

Junior riders can get off to a flying start by riding their beginner dirt bikes on a grass track with portable jumps and bumps. The design of the track layouts caters for junior riders so there aren’t the big jumps, ruts and bumps of a motocross race track.

Ultimate Motocross has also been organising Friday evening events for Juniors under special night lights. Check these out using the contact details below for more information.

In case the kids want to bring a friend who doesn’t have their own beginner's dirt bike, there is a range of dirt bikes and junior quads you can hire. There are even bikes for Mums and Dads available too. You’d need to book all these in advance.

2. Fort Lytton Motocross Club

The Fort Lytton Mx facility claims to be the only motocross facility in Brisbane. The venue has special lighting for nighttime practice, coaching and racing. It caters for riders from the age of 5 and offers professional 1-1 coaching sessions.

The layout of the track is there to inspire confidence. Riders can safely improve their bike skills on the professionally designed track. There are plenty of jumps and banked turns. The ground is sandy with clay soil for the jumps. The track gets maintained on a weekly basis with the facility’s own earth-moving machines.

3. Willowbank MX

Set on an exciting 40-hectare parcel of land, Willowbank MX has a professional design. You’ll find an MX Track, Junior Stadium, a Pee-wee track and Adult Stadium. Aside from the popular 2km Natural Terrain Sand Track, there’s also a 1km Grass/Rut track, ideal for most levels of riding. You’ll find a flat training area too for beginners.

The specialist grooming team works every day except Mondays and Tuesdays. On Wednesdays,  the natural terrain track gets groomed to race standards.

4. Motoland (Temporarily Closed)

Keep a close eye on Motoland’s website here for their reopening date. Located on the Old Tivoli Raceway, you’ll find them at ​​62 Coal Rd, Chuwar QLD 4306, (Contact: 0408 492 993 info@motoland.com.au). 

There are normally 3 well-groomed junior and PW tracks catering for all levels of bikes and riders. There is even a cafe too. Full-day prices range from $20 for youngsters up to $120 for a Family pass (1 adult and 2 juniors).

Now Your Know Where to Ride a Dirt Bike!

Remember to always check your bikes before you set off. Make sure you’ve charged your batteries: always carry a second fully charged battery. Remember to pack some chain cleaner, chain lube, a bike stand and some basic hand tools. Double-check all safety gear is complete and pack plenty of food…they will burn heaps of calories!

Noise has been an issue for some of these locations with complaints from councils and residents. You’re doing your bit by investing in an electric bike, but again it’s always worth checking in beforehand to make sure there have been no unexpected closures.
